Condon Total Comfort Delivers Warmth and Relief to Ripon and Beyond

By Pamela Sosnowski

Wisconsin can be a challenging state weather-wise, with very chilly winters and sweltering summers. Condon Total Comfort (CTC), however, has been keeping residential homes and commercial buildings the perfect temperature year-round for 47 years. The heating and cooling company serves customers within a 60-mile radius of its Ripon headquarters, and has been owned by husband-and-wife team Dennis and Debra Werch since 2014.

"Dennis headed the residential sales department for 12 years," Debra Werch said. "Prior to that he was a HVAC installer. [He] knows the business inside and out. I was a registered dental hygienist working locally in Ripon and both of us have been involved in the community and community service projects."

Some of the services the company offers include heating and cooling installation, diagnostics and repair of equipment, and ventilation upgrades. CTC specializes in high-efficiency furnaces, central air conditioning, radiant floor heating, and mini-split heat pumps.

No matter a customer's needs, the company has a myriad of temperature solutions with an emphasis on energy saving and maintaining high air quality. Mini-split heat pumps, for example, work by using variable refrigerant-zoned conditioning. They can be used to control the temperature of one room or multiple spaces and can feature motion sensing, to turn heat on when triggered by a family member entering a room.

Cost saving is important to businesses as well, and CTC has installed modern temperature control systems in retailers, restaurants, senior living communities and other commercial buildings of all sizes. In particular the team specializes in kitchen ventilation and hoods for dining establishments that offer energy efficiency and compliance with safety and building codes.

"Our licensed in-house engineering design team works closely with building architects and contractors to design and install the most energy and cost efficient systems for retail, multi-family, office building and restaurant applications," Werch said. "CTC has completed successful commercial installations both locally and across Wisconsin."

In addition to providing the newest temperature solutions, the CTC team is equipped with modern technology to help them accomplish jobs efficiently. Service technicians carry tablets and smartphones to quickly check on the availability of parts, write an estimate, order equipment, and even securely process an invoice using a credit card at the customer's location.

"From the customer's phone call to dispatching the call to the arrival of the service technician, our staff keeps the customer informed of arrival time," Werch said. "During a service call our technicians have the ability to quote new equipment if necessary. This avoids the wait time of a salesman to be scheduled to come to the customer for a quote." The company also provides 24/7 same-day emergency service with a technician always on call to serve customers 365 days a year, and offers service maintenance agreements.

CTC gives back to the local community as well. Every year they partner with furnace manufacturer Lennox Industries for "Heat U.P. Wisconsin", which grants a natural gas furnace to a Wisconsin resident in need.

"We have the capability to do two furnaces per year," Werch said, "This is a state-wide project through all Lennox dealers [and] a special project for us." The company also donates its scrap metal materials to Dare to Believe, a missionary project in India that is locally supported by the Ripon area. Through its exceptional customer service and community assistance, CTC is proving that temperature control companies don't just offer warmth, but they can also have warm hearts.
