For All Your Event Planning Needs, Call on Harmonious Union Events

By Marina I. Jokic

Madison-based event planning company Harmonious Union Events (HUE) is run by a small but dedicated team of professional women. Owner Sarah Davidson and her two consultants have coordinated dozens events with guest counts ranging from 30 to over 700. HUE's services include every aspect of event planning from setup and décor to handling vendor logistics and ensuring a flawless guest experience.

With Davidson at the helm, the event planners at HUE are wholeheartedly dedicated to the success of every event they manage. Weddings make up a considerable portion of HUE's workload but the company takes on a motley cohort of events each year.

Davidson's business philosophy hinges on the belief that life's milestone should be marked in style. Whether a wedding, a birthday, or an anniversary has brought you to HUE's door, rest assured that your event will be planned to perfection.

"Many people get too stressed over the details and forget to enjoy all the hard work they've [accomplished in their lives]," Davidson said. "Our aim is to get things done and cover the details so you can just relax, enjoy, and celebrate."

The breakdown of services at HUE is customizable and straightforward. Their three packages, the Emerald, Ruby, and Diamond, can accommodate all kinds of event requests. From the simplest to the most elaborate wedding, the different packages give clients the freedom to choose HUE's level of involvement. For instance, the most basic Emerald package includes day-of coordination for those clients who know exactly what they want and require only help with execution. The Ruby and Diamond packages are a little more involved, offering step-by-step guidance and hands-on planning.

"Something that I feel makes our team stand out is that we're ultra-flexible to work in whatever way [is most fitting] for our clients [and gels with their style]," Davidson said. "[For example, if they live out of state and can only come back [to Madison] once or twice, we work [with them remotely while acting as their local representative in tracking down vendors and booking venues among others]."

Davidson's professional background in event planning stretches back many years, but the thing that has kept her excited about her job is the personal relationships she's developed with a lot of her customers. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, Davidson always knew she wanted a business of her own. A love of event planning and a knack for pleasing people propelled her into her current role.

"The best thing that a client can say about us is that [he or she] didn't have to worry about a single thing on their wedding day," Davidson said.
