Full Tilt DJ & Photo Goes to Great Lengths to Bring Guests a Fun and Memorable Experience

By Kelly Church

As one of the longest running disc-jockey companies in Madison, WI, Full Tilt DJ promises a fun and interactive experience for weddings, parties and company events. DJ and owner Scott Siewert has been building his music collection since he was very young and started his DJ career in 1980.

Four years in a row, Full Tilt DJ was the headlining act at Taste of Madison, the city's largest event. The company has grown to be a national and international DJ service, even visiting places like Istanbul, Turkey and Poland. However, Siewert says he gets great joy out of working locally.

"It is great to do shows locally," Siewert says. "I love that everywhere I go, people know and appreciate me. I'm known for having the most fun, fasten your seatbelts and hang on for the ride of your life production in the industry. People locally know that. All my work is repeat or referral. After producing this high-energy production in this area for over 36 years, I have a following."

It all started with just Siewert playing at a disco called the Shed. After a year of working there, Siewert purchased his own music system and started working bars in the area. Before he knew it, he started spinning music at his friends' weddings and word started to spread. Then he started getting jobs from people he didn't know and getting hired at some of the major night clubs in the city. His large music selection for the different types of events and venues he works means there is something for everyone on his playlist.

"Musically, I specialize in a very wide mix," Siewert says. "A little bit of everything for everyone. I learned a long time ago, it isn't the music that separates one DJ from another, it's the personality. Nobody remembers if a DJ plays a certain song ten years after an event is done. It's the other things I do that make the memories last forever. Was the DJ fun? Did the DJ get everyone involved? Was the DJ memorable? These are way more important things to look at when a person books a DJ."

One of the more unique elements of Full Tilt DJ is corporate game shows and team building activities. For more than 20 years, Full TIlt DJ has hosted game shows to get corporate employees interacting with one another in exciting and different ways. Some past companies who have taken advantage of the game show service include Microsoft, NASCAR, Sears and Miller Brewing.

Full Tilt DJ also offers photography services and a photo booth for rent. Full Tilt DJ can be hired by contacting Siewert through his website thefundj.com.
