North Central Group Works Their Hardest to Create the Perfect Hotel Experience

By Marina I. Jokic

Headquartered in Middleton, Wisconsin, North Central Group (NCG) is one of the prominent hotel management and development companies in North America. It's portfolio of hotels includes notable names such as Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton by Hilton, Home2 Suites by Hilton, Courtyard by Marriott and their newest addition AC Hotels by Marriott among others. Corporate Director of Marketing Katie Marron discusses what sets NCG apart from its competitors.

In the hotel business, building a reputation for yourself is a tough feat. Good management on such a large scale can be difficult to maintain. Striving to be recognized within the industry as well as providing consistent quality has propelled NCG to the forefront of hotel management companies. Moreover, it has been distinguished with numerous awards and accolades such the Marriott Partnership Circle Award, Marriott Property of the Year, Hampton Circle of Excellence, and the Homewood Suites Connie Pride Award, just to name a few.

"Our team members and the culture we create are a crucial part of why we are so successful," Marron says. To that end, NCG recognizes its employees, while providing a supportive environment so that they can develop the skills and confidence to offer exceptional service to hotel guests.

Recognizing their responsibility to uphold the highest standards of corporate citizenship in conducting their business, NCG supports various organizations and causes such as the American Family Children's Hospital, Habitat for Humanity of Dane County, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison, Second Harvest Feeding America, and United Way of Dane County.

Part of NCG's corporate citizenship is encouraging employee volunteerism and participation in local organizations. "North Central Group and our hotels are committed to being good neighbors and helping to build stronger communities where our team members and guests live, work, and play," adds Marron. In addition, the company has been on the forefront of green technology, from white roofs to low-flow water fixtures, NCG constantly implements new sustainability initiatives across its hotels with the help of its Green Team.

Promoting ambitious green and social initiatives and actively engaging its employees across its portfolio of hotels are crucial to keeping NCG ahead of its peers. Green Masters are judged on a comprehensive range of sustainability issues, from energy to water use to educational outreach and governance. Only the top 20% of applicants achieved the highest Green Master designation. NCG has been recognized as a Green Master since 2015.
