What are the main decisions that people need to make when it comes to choosing new hardwood flooring?

The main decision our consumers need to make is how the hardwood will function with their lifestyle. Hardwood will take on dents, dings, and scratching and our consumers need to not only understand the care and wear of the hardwood product, but also appreciate its aging process.

Check things like door clearances, space above appliances, step risers, etc to be sure you select the proper thickness. Style and color are major too.

What type(s) of hardwood floors work best for high-traffic areas (and why)?

Engineered hardwood is the product of choice across the board. It offers more strength and stability under the veneer layer

Products with thin veneers do not perform well in high traffic areas - a solid wood or a quality engineered with a thick wood face wear the best

What are some of the most popular hardwood floors for homeowners in Wisconsin?

Handscraped Engineered hardwood is of the most popular wood choices, offering a rustic, more forgiving design.

Darker stains, wide boards, and distressed/scraped finishes are very popular

Can you explain how to properly maintain hardwood floors so they last longer and still look good?

Hardwood floors have an aluminum oxide finish protecting the wood from minor scratching. It is best to dry swiffer or vacuum with no beater bar. Your hardwood can be maintained with a spot cleaner and dry mop cloth as needed. Dust them frequently, use walk off mats at entry points, keep the floor dry, remove shoes, and use felt pads under chair/furniture legs

What advice do you have for someone who wants to install hardwood floors but has a limited budget?

Hardwood flooring is not of the most expensive product out there. There are plenty of engineered hardwood flooring options that are aggressively priced to get you the real wood look in your home.

Don't go too cheap when buying an engineered floor - be careful that the product you select has a good face thickness and a quality high density core. Some inexpensive solid products have a high percentage of short boards and/or wood pieces with knots and streaks - be sure you know what you are getting

What's the best way for people to contact you and your company?
