What are some of the most popular trees that homeowners in ___ are planting now?

The trees that are the most popular right now are the Rubrum family of Maple Trees. They grow the quickest and have the most gorgeous fall colors! Autumn Blaze being the top pick. As far as planting goes, we have a 36" ball on our trees, so the perfect hole for ours trees needs to be 4' wide by 22" deep. This gives you plenty of room to move the tree while in the hole for placement and is the perfect height out of the ground for room to settle into place. Can you briefly explain the basic steps to successfully plant new trees in your yard?

It's great to have nice topsoil in your yard, but it's not usually the case. If it's a heavy clay soil, we sometime dig the hole larger and add some nice topsoil. Our company checks out the area before we plant. Most plants adapt to the soil they are being replanted in, it help strengthen their roots

.

How does the soil figure into optimum tree health?

To nurture and take care of your trees, it's great to trim, if their manageable, or have them trimmed to keep them in check. Dead, hanging or broken branches pull on the tree and don't look nice either. If it's unusually hot and dry, water your established trees, they would love a drink

!

What do you recommend for the proper care of trees that have just been planted through maturity?

As far a planting trees that aren't native to Wisconsin, just watch them carefully until they get established. Wrap the trunk in the winter so the bark is protected from the elements and possibly deer/animals. Fertilize them in spring, and most importantly, plant them in a protected area away from the harsh elements.
